You've come a Long way, baby

Today we visited our house to see the progress made since Monday, the last time we were there.

Most exciting, No. 2 has a room! It will be about the same size as Larkin's room and comes off a hallway that leads back to the utility room and master bedroom.


The walls are sheetrocked and still need to be floated (?), sanded (?), textured (?) and painted. Or something like that. Those are words I've heard Matt say about the project.

We also are very happy about our new master bathroom cabinets and the fact that the tub is installed and surrounded by tile. We went from hardly any closets or cabinets anywhere in the house to having a ton of storage.

Unfortunately, the house is too dust-covered for us to live there, so we're staying with Wade for another few days to a week.

Thankfully Larkin has adjusted to her new temporary home, and she's sleeping much better than her first few nights of early-morning wake-ups.

She loves climbing up and down Wade's stairs and watching the deer eat the corn we scatter outside.


Larkin took way too short of a nap and woke up cranky and bored, so I scurried to find us an afternoon activity that was appropriate for the freezing-cold weather.

We ended up at Goin' Bananas Playnasium, thanks to a tip from a fellow Dewdrops mom.

It is a big facility with lots of bouncy houses, playhouses and pretend kitchens and an "Under 2" area for babies.

I'm not entirely shocked that Larkin was bored by the Under 2 area because it had less stuff for her to climb all over. She is such a monkey.

This activity also confirmed that she has absolutely no fear and is not the least bit intimidated by kids bigger than her.

As soon as we arrived, someone handed Larkin a partially deflated orange balloon. She carried it around for the full first hour we were there.

A nice kid offered to take Larkin on the huge bouncy slide. I wish I'd switched my camera to video mode. She loved it! (Notice the orange balloon still in her grasp.)
