You've come a Long way, baby

Dear No. 2,

Today is exactly 1 month from the day you are due to be born.

Daddy, Larkin and I can't wait to meet you, and the same goes for all your family and friends who are very excited about your arrival.

Every day I do something to get ready for you to join our family. Your clothes and blankets are washed, and I've stocked up on newborn diapers. Also, your room is coming along bit by bit. I think it is going to be really cute and I really hope you like it.

So, I know you're not here yet, but I already have a favor to ask:

Could you please-oh-please hold off on coming for at least 2 more weeks?

Your daddy has a short work trip planned this week and another next week, and I know he doesn't want to be out of town when you start making your move.

Plus, I have not quite completed all the things I need to do in preparation for being out of the office for 3 months. I'm working as fast as I can, but another 2 weeks would really help.

If you could wait just 2 weeks, that should give Daddy and me enough time to finish the house project. We're tackling some of the final details now around bathroom fixtures and doorknobs, and we can't move the furniture out of your room into our own until they lay carpet.

Two weeks. Won't you please help manage Mommy's stress level by doing me this small favor?

That's all. I just wanted to ask.

I feel you move in my belly all the time. It's a wonderful feeling.
