At today’s doctor appointment I learned I am 2 centimeters dilated and 80 percent effaced.
I thought 80 percent effaced meant I had 80 percent more of the way to go, but it turns out it’s the opposite. Still, Dr. Uribe said this doesn’t mean BL is coming early – he said I could stay this way for the next few weeks.
I sure hope so.
In the meantime, I’m giving myself the next two weeks to get things done.
Maternity plan submitted, bottles and pump stuff bought, car seat in car, BL’s room finished…I’m officially kicking into gear (while still taking it easy).

You're in the home stretch! I was 1 cm dilated with no effacement until I went into labor... I sometimes wonder why they do the internal exams at all, unless you think you're in labor or they're thinking of inducing. Not the most fun thing to have done!
I am really looking forward to seeing and holding that sweet baby girl.
