Larkin came to the hospital this morning to meet Layne.
Stephanie was staying in the hospital with me, and first thing in the morning we got the room ready for Larkin's visit. I changed out of my hospital gown into normal clothes. We put sleeping Layne in the baby bed against the wall.
Larkin came into the hospital room wearing her "I'm a Big Sister" shirt and the sweater that Sadie crocheted for her, and she gave me a huge hug, making me as happy as could be.
She got up on the bed with me and ate some grapes from my breakfast tray. It took her a few minutes to notice Layne, but as soon as she did she pointed and said, "Baby, baby, baby!"

We all got up on the bed together and looked at the baby.

Then Layne went back into her crib, and Larkin went back to eating grapes.
A few times Larkin asked to look at the baby again.

Then she climbed up and rocked in the glider chair in the corner.

And that was Larkin and Layne's first meeting.
