You've come a Long way, baby

At today's sonogram BL really looked like a baby! We saw our kiddo twisting and turning, a healthy heartbeat and a profile so adorable it brought tears to my eyes. We saw BL's arms waving and legs kicking like crazy.

Matt was particularly thrilled to get a good shot of BL's foot and to see that the Perkins toes tradition will carry on to the next generation.

To explain: Like many on his mom's side of the family, Matt has long, unnaturally strong toes. Seriously, they're like fingers and sometimes they come after me and pinch. If BL has finger-toes too, I'm in big trouble...Matt is certain to pass along his finger-toe pinching skills.

So today we didn't find out whether BL is a boy or a girl. We'll have to wait a few more weeks before we know which of our names we'll use, how to decorate BL's room and whether to be looking at pink or blue baby clothes.

But that's fine with me. What we saw today was just perfect.
