Lately I find myself having mature conversations with Larkin, like this one.
L: Mom, can we make muffins?
Me: Not today, but we can another day.
L: Yay! We can make them another day! But why not today?
Me: Because we're just not going to make them today.
L: Okay mom, I understand.
Every time we have an exchange like this, I realize again that she isn't a baby anymore - and that she's only getting more and more grown-up as time goes on.
