You've come a Long way, baby

We said the prayers over the Chanukah candles (nearly) every night, and of course Larkin and Layne enjoyed the presents.

Next year I'm going to pick out a good children's book to tell the story of Chanukah. My renditions of the reason for the holiday completely went over Larkin's head. War between Syrians and Maccabbees, dreidels, the temple and oil in the lamp...all foreign concepts to my 2 year-old. I should have just focused on the miracle of 8 days.

At our house, it would be a miracle if Larkin didn't try to test me every chance she gets. Here she is pretending to touch the menorah after I told her not to touch. Sigh...she's 2.
